Founded in late 2017, VerySpecial Studios emerged with a visionary goal: to create a space where artists and producers could craft their work without restrictions, offering everyone an opportunity to thrive in our industry. Our commitment to affordable pricing and customizable environments has enabled us to become a recognized name in the community.

Our studios have been recognized as a favorite in the industry from the beginning. Esteemed artists such as Young Thug and Chief Keef, along with renowned producers like Brody Brown, Mike & Keys, Wheezy, and MyGuyMars, have chosen VerySpecial Studios as their creative home. We take immense pride in our accomplishments and the positive impact we have made in the music landscape, empowering talent and fostering creativity.

With our recent upgrades completed, we are thrilled to announce our exciting pivot into the next stage of our studio's life! We're now offering a more private and secure facility, all while keeping our customer service-driven approach at the forefront.

Our gear upgrades are nothing short of remarkable! We're proud to introduce two sets of custom-built speakers and enhanced mic locker upgrades featuring the legendary Sony C800G and the Telefuken ELA M251. These additions position us to cater to the established and focused side of the industry like never before.

Director of Engineering

  • David “DTB” Teel is more than just a name in the music industry; he’s a vibrant force whose passion for sound has transformed the careers of many artists. Hailing from the Bay Area, DTB has honed his craft over the past 12 years, earning recognition as a multiplatinum, Grammy-nominated producer and engineer. His talent and dedication have led him to collaborate with some of the biggest names, including Kehlani, Moneybagg Yo, G-Eazy, and Future.

    DTB has a unique knack for understanding an artist's vision, turning ideas into impactful music. He has become a trusted partner for up-and-coming talents like Thuy, LaRussell, ALLBLACK, and Kalan FrFr, helping them at each stage of the creative process. Armed with expertise in Pro Tools, Logic, and FL Studio, he serves as a one-stop shop, ensuring that each project not only meets but exceeds expectations, making every moment in the studio as vibrant as the music itself.

Zach “Ekzakt” Perry

Head Engineer

  • Zach "Ekzakt" Perry is a Multi Platinum, Grammy nominated producer and engineer known for his refined approach to sound design and collaboration. From the San Francisco Bay Area, and now based in Los Angeles, he has worked with artists like 6LACK, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Kelly Rowland, and Jamie Foxx, contributing his expertise to records such as 6LACK’s “Let Her Go” and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “SHOWING YOU.”

    With a strong focus on in-studio collaboration, and vocal production, Ekzakt has built a reputation for bringing out the best in artists and ensuring each track reaches its full potential. His 12+yrs of industry experience are sure to help every artist create their best work whether he's tracking, mixing or producing.

    Whether it’s capturing the perfect take, fine-tuning a mix, or troubleshooting complex signal chains, he approaches every project with professionalism, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.
